playground equipment might excel in safety, but fails in helping children develop

When I was growing up, there were many playground areas build from wood railroad ties and metal parts. I used to climb these up to 20 feet in the air. In my backyard tree, I would climb probably 50 feet in the air, and it was scary and thrilling. On the work site, I occasionally still get a little nervous taking a ladder up to a roof, but I find that I easily become accustomed to the height. This subject matter of this article is obvious to me because of my rewarding early experiences.
